Manila, Philippines - Alternate routes for motorists and buses traversing the Quirino Avenue in Manila were announced by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to give way to the filming of action movie "The Bourne Legacy," which will begin shooting on Wednesday (January 11, 2012).
MMDA said that from Wednesday to Friday, Leveriza Street will be closed to traffic between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. intermittent traffic control will be implemented along Quirino Avenue and San Andres from 7 a.m. to 5 a.m.
The following alternate routes were announced by the MMDA:
- Along President Quirino Avenue from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue:
All vehicles must right at M. Adriatico, left at Bagong Lipunan, right at President Quirino to destination.
- Along President Quirino Avenue from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard:
Take San Andres, right turn at L.M. Guerero, left turn at Remedios, left turn at Maria Orosa, right at San Andres, left at M. Adriatico, right at President Quirino to destination.
- For buses along Roxas Boulevard - Coastal Road to Manila:
Right turn at Vito Cruz, left at Taft Avenue to destination.
- For buses from Taft Avenue - Manila to Roxas Boulevard - Coastal Road:
Right at Vito Cruz, left at Roxas Boulevard to destination.
Car chases
The streets of Manila will be used for car chases and action sequences, said MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino.
The first shooting location of the film will be at San Andres and Remedios Circle in Malate, Manila.
Aside from San Andres, the film will also shoot at the Navotas fishport, EDSA-Taft Rotonda, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Rizal Avenue and the Marikina City public market.
The latest installment in the Hollywood-blockbuster action series stars Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton. Both Renner and Weisz are already in the country and are staying at a hotel in Makati.
The film's crew will be shooting in the country for 40 to 45 days.
